Hi again Xavier,
(I'm Ccing the list since I don't want to repeat myself next time
someone asks about that stupid driver.)

What is sad is:
(1) it's proprietary
(2) it's not keeping up with X development
(3) (1) means we can't help them fix (2)

Downgrade xserver-xorg-core to 1.11 (you can find it on
snapshot.debiban.org), it's built from the xorg-server package. You'll
need drivers compatible with this version, too.

The problem isn't X. The problem is that fglrx hasn't been updated to
work with X 1.12; so newer snapshots from git won't help at all.

That's called video ABI changes.

Use radeon in the meanwhile, removing all traces of fglrx from your
system, problem solved (a reboot is probably needed to make the removal
effective).
