Bug#621815: xserver-xorg-core: Started taking lots of CPU and heats laptop

Package: xserver-xorg-core
Version: 2:1.7.7-13
Severity: normal

Today laptop started heating, lm-sensors applet shows up to 62
celsius even when idling on Gnome desktop. Previously 20 degrees
cooler. I thought this was caused by upgrade to x11-xserver-utils
today, but getting older version x11-xserver-utils_7.5+2_i386.deb
from snapshot.debian.org and downgrading to that did plus rebooting
did not help.

Top shows Xorg takes CPU:

Laptop is Lenovi R61i, dual core CPU and sensors applet show both
cores running about full tilt. This is somewhat bad, I do not dare use
my laptop now until I can get it running cooler.
