Bug#481092: X Font Server crashing
I think I'm having the same problem.
using xfs for fonts for ltsp and just stated up new server with lenny.
Running lenny amd64
config is stock other then have tcp enabled.
output of dpkg -l xfs

The events at 6:33 is from a /etc/init.d/xfs restart in chron.
The others were manual restarts.
I'm suspecting terminal login or off is causing the failure but not sure
