After some test, I found that video=720x400 is nicer (it's the resolution I get on the GRUB menu, by default). But it's also OK to have the framebuffer console running at the LCD optimal resolution (that is to say: no special kernel parameter). Anyway, what's not too nice is the fact that the screen is briefly blanked during the boot sequence, and the resolution changes during the boot sequence (when the KMS kicks in). Is there a way to avoid this blanking (while keeping the framebuffer console, without disabling kernel mode setting)? Maybe there's a way to obtain a given resolution for the GRUB menu and then keep it unchanged up to the end of the boot sequence...
