Bug#571741: explaining hardware

Like I said on the report the machine was going well on the -1 version of
the intel driver, it was only then I upgraded to -2 that it started failing,
furthermore, if I disable kms the machine is fine again.

Machine is completely stable, there can be no poblem with any hardware,
machine is completely ok.

I think that the hypothesis of the video screwing the rest of the memory
seems a good one.

About the two tests you ask me to do... disabling the related .ko in the
kernel doesn't make much sense to me, as only disabling the kms (commenting
the options i915 modeset=1 line) makes the machine work perfectly, including
DRM/DRI without any problem.

About the second of the tests... disabling DRI on X... I'm perfectly running
X with DRI without any problem if I disable KMS, so I don't think DRI has
anything to do with this, but I'll try to test it anyway.

BTW: It seems to me that you hadn't understood well that this was only
happening when KMS was enabled, is the problem clear or should I explain it
again? any particular thing that isn't clear?

Regards.
