Bug#551996: xorg: Keyboard and Mouse not working after upgrade

I have an IBM NetVista Type 6578-RAU with original 
keyboard and mouse, running the latest update of 
Squeeze with LXDE.

With the update approximately 2009-10-10 the mouse 
can range over only the leftmost 2/3 of the screen 
and is impotent; no mouse button produces any effect 
on the display.  I've not really tested the keyboard 
in the GUI.  Seems pointless until the mouse works.
LXDE works via tightvnc from another machine.

As you see, there is no error message in 
the log.
