For me, this problem turned out to be defective hardware: after the card was exchanged for an identical card, the hangs no longer occurred. I know this may not help the original reporter of the bug. I also suggest that, as this appears to be a frequently reported issue, it would be better for nvSync() to log errors after a while and attempt to continue, if at all possible, instead of entering an infinite loop.
