Package: xserver-xorg-video-ati Version: 1:6.9.0-1+lenny1 Severity: important On a fresh Lenny installation, the xserver starts with a resolution of only 640x480. Manually adding other modes to xorg.conf has no effect. Etch does not have this problem, but using the xorg.conf file from Etch does not fix this on Lenny. This happens both on i386 and amd64. xorg.conf and xorg log are attached. Please re-assign to xorg if this is not ati-specific. I don't know much about xorg :-(, so please let me know if you need more information or can point me to the right direction. It contains some fixes that were committed in upstream git up to 2008/08/02. Alex was talking about some more recent commits that are not in unstable neither in experimental. I am marking the bug as fixed in the latest version in unstable. But it may be nice if you could try latest upstream git anyway and let Alex know if it works as well. Brice
