$ dpkg -l | grep libxmu | cut -b 1-60
ii  libxmu6                              2:1.0.4-1
ii  libxmuu1                             2:1.0.4-1

  libfontconfig1-dev libfreetype6-dev libgomp1 libio-stringy-perl
  libmail-box-perl libmail-sendmail-perl libmime-types-perl
  libobject-realize-later-perl libstdc++6-4.2-dev
  libsys-hostname-long-perl libuser-identity-perl libxdamage-dev
  libxfixes-dev libxft-dev libxp-dev libxrender-dev libxxf86vm-dev
  pkg-config po-debconf quilt x11proto-damage-dev x11proto-fixes-dev
  x11proto-gl-dev x11proto-print-dev x11proto-render-dev
  x11proto-xf86vidmode-dev zlib1g-dev

among which I cannot see any libxmu-headers...
