Ok, I've just uploaded a backport of radeonhd to
http://people.debian.org/~dnusinow/etch_and_a_half/
I can't ssh in to alioth right now, so this will have to do temporarily. I
had to backport 1.0 rather than 1.1 because 1.1 requires lots of newer
server functionality. It may be possible to do a 1.1 backport with some
effort, but I don't have the time. 1.0 is a fairly solid release though,
and it's way better than using vesa.
It looks like we still need an -ati backport, although I really don't know
what the best route to take for this. That driver has undergone so many
changes, I'm not sure what we can realistically backport.
The other thing is that we need testing, preferrably from users. I can't
test radeonhd myself, so I don't even know if my build works. I'd love to
see a plan for that.
