Reportedly this works on ubuntu gutsy, I tried 2.1.1-0ubuntu9 and the backlight
is still off after resume, although the level is preserved (perhaps because the
driver doesn't control it at all, xrandr --prop shows
http://rafb.net/p/6bNitI61.html).

I have fiddled a bit with pm-utils and on resume it does chvt 1; chvt 7, from
there doing again the switch (chvt 1; sleep 1; chvt 7) does the trick. But I
guess this needs to be fixed in the driver.
