I attached the dmesg output with a vanilla kernel 2.6.23-rc6 (not 2.6.23, as I 
wrote before) in dmesg.working and dmesg output with Debian kernel 2.6.24 in 
dmesg. They differ in the agp part.

Hmmm, the computer is a set top box with only 128 MB of memory.
