when i upgraded from lenny to sid (xorg 7.2 to 7.3), my keyboard and 
mouse stopped working.  after some work, i found that the 
xorg-server-input-kbd and xorg-server-input-mouse packages had not 
been installed during the upgrade.  after installing those packages, 
the keyboard and mouse worked again.

i very well may have done something wrong, because i was doing a lot at
once.  but it appears that at this point upgrades from xorg 7.2 to 7.3
are broken.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to fix this, apart from adding
xserver-xorg-video/input-all back in xserver-xorg's dependency.  If lots
of people seem to be hitting this problem, we might want to add a note
about this in the releases note for the next stable release. But there
is no real bug here, so I am closing this.

I don't think it is the case anymore. Anyway, the idea was that you
always need at least one driver (hence the Depends: one|all), and having
all of them was a good idea for people who don't know which one they
need (hence the Recommends: all).
