Bug#443274: dual-card setup doesn't work with X 1.4
No it doesn't. Also X process can not be killed with a -9 as well. As you might imagine Ctrl+Alt+Backspace doesn't bring back the console too.
But with a dual-head setup Ctrl+Alt+Backspace works and X can be killed.

Does it work if you use a single-head setup enabling only the ati board?
