Which version did you exactly try? 1:1.1.2-6 is in etch/stable and
testing. 1:1.1.5-2 is in unstable.
Looking at your error, I would guess that you are trying to use a device
file which does not match any /dev/input/eventX while the manpage says
that only these files are supported. Please send your config and log as
Julien requested.
