You still haven't explained why the app needs GLUT_ALPHA.

I assume you're referring to the AGP aperture size here, whereas the
above is about the amount of video RAM on the card. As the error
indicates, the only ways to overcome that are to reduce the virtual
resolution or depth (or to solder more video RAM onto the card ;).
