Ok, I can reproduce now, 16bits made the trick.
But I don't get any interesting backtrace either, even with the server
and driver built with nostrip and noopt.

Interestingly, the bug does *not* occur if you do
    startx /usr/games/blobwars
or
    startx /usr/bin/xterm
       and then run blobwars
while it *does* occur if you start twm from xterm before starting
blobwars. Maybe something related to the window position?
