Package: freemind Version: 0.7.1-6 Severity: normal Hi! I'm having problems with freemind. When I try to resize the window, the actual canvas doesn't follow the borders of the window. (I've had similar problems, a long time ago, when I did my programming university classes. Typical Java insanity. :) So anyways, it makes the whole package a lot less usable. I attached a screenshot of the problem. It doesn't happen in other java applications (e.g. Azureus resizes fine) so while I think there's probably a problem with the graphical toolkit, there's also probably a workaround to be done here. I think the root of the problem is because I run the composite extensions in X.org. I have tried starting freemind in wmii and twm instead of compiz and commented out the following extensions line from my xorg.conf: Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "enable" EndSection And it fixed the problem. Now I know compiz and friends are considered eye-candy, but they're actually quite useful and improve my productivity and people's sense of "desktops". I would, however, totally understand if this bug report was rejected or transfered onto the X-Force or something. :) Thanks for packaging this great piece of software. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-3-686 Locale: LANG=fr_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages freemind depends on: ii gij-4.0 [java-virtual-machi 4.0.3-2 The GNU Java bytecode interpreter ii gij-4.1 [java2-runtime] 4.1.1-17 The GNU Java bytecode interpreter ii kaffe-pthreads [java-virtua 2:1.1.7-4 A POSIX threads enabled version of ii sun-java5-jre [java2-runtim 1.5.0-08-1.1 Sun Java(TM) Runtime Environment ( Versions of packages freemind recommends: ii firefox [www-browser] 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.7-2 lightweight web browser based on M ii links2 [www-browser] 2.1pre26-4 Web browser running in both graphi ii lynx [www-browser] 2.8.5-2sarge2.2 Text-mode WWW Browser ii w3m [www-browser] 0.5.1-5 WWW browsable pager with excellent -- no debconf information anarcat@orange:~$ DEBUG=1 freemind DEBUG: Freemind parameters are ''. According to other Java-related bugs that were assigned to Compiz (like #403530), this is a bug in Java. Closing this bug. Feel free to reopen and reassign to your java package if needed. Brice
