Sorry, this has been sitting in my inbox for far too long.

Please forgive this unsolicited email to all you maintainers, but I'm at
wit's end with this problem and wish to help resolve it.

X does not work on an Ultra 1 running the 2.6 kernel. It also does not
crash, leave error messages in the log file, etc. It "thinks" it's
working, but I get a blank screen or if I hit <CNTL><ALT><F1> and back
again to <CNTL><ALT><F7>, I see the console text from tty1 in blue.
<CNTL>C works to end X when in tty1, but <CNTL><ALT><BACKSPACE> does not
work in tty7.

I tried using VNC, which sort of works- I can use a VNC window (at only
one small size), but when I try fullscreen, stuff hangs.

Not that I'm a programmer, but when I have to debug something I try to
break down a program into little steps, making sure each step works
before I add on another. Is it possible to create a small program that
uses the suncg6 driver to simply draw the screen white or some other
very basic task to make sure the driver is correctly communicating with
the graphics card?

I would be happy to compile and test such a program and work to solve
this bug once and for all.

Thank you for your help.
