Package: xserver-xfree86
Version: 4.1.0-4
Severity: normal
Hi,
With Xfree 3.x the wheel was working just great using the IMPS/2 protocol,
and ZaxisMapping 4 5.
After upgrading to 4.x, it stopped working. I've just now tried to get it
to work, but was not able to.
I've tried the MouseManPlusPs/2 protocol, as well as the ImPS/2, with
the number of buttons set to 5 and 6, and zaxismapping using buttons 4, 5
and also buttons 5, 6, it just doesnt work in any combination.
Also in my searching around I came across alot of conflicting information.
Ie. some pages claim the X protocol only supports 5 buttons, though I dont
see anything about this in the mouse man page, and the Xserver happily
accepts a configuration option of 6 buttons. Can one use more than 5
buttons?
This mouse is listed in the README.mouse.gz file, but the suggested options
therein dont work.

Wheel processing was overhauled for xserver-xorg-input-mouse 1.1.1 (now
available in etch).
Since the original bug submitter is not able to verify the fix, I will
assume the matter has been dealt with by the overhaul (if not before)
and close this bug.
