Bug#348226: luit can be disabled in uxterm
This setting in my X-resources seems to help:
! Be carefull with this. You must have some UTF-8 -capable shell.
! "xterm will use conventional 8bit mode or UTF-8 mode according
! to utf8 resource or -u8 option."
UXTerm.VT100.Locale: false
Now luit is disabled. Normally I do not use text-based programs that can
not handle UTF-8, so it should not cause problems. BTW my zsh is a
symlink to zsh-beta.
But there is something to be fixed in behaviour of luit. It should be
possible to have both login shell and luit.
