I can't speak for the others, but the only thing that LTSP does apart from
dpkg-reconfigure is to allow its configuration file to override some
autodetected values.  That isn't code which can be shared.  "try to
configure X automatically at boot time" comes down to dpkg-reconfigure.

The automatic configuration code is already centralized in xserver-xorg.
