hello i'm not sure, this will solve your problem, but xdm seems to be missing /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup file. Could it be a problem? I was upgrading one old machine and suddendly i could not login using xdmcp /var/log/xdm.log says Sun Aug 14 20:24:09 2005 xdm info (pid 8334): not sourcing /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xsetup (No such file or directory) Sun Aug 14 20:24:11 2005 xdm error (pid 8334): fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) after touch /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup it says Sun Aug 14 20:26:24 2005 xdm info (pid 8489): sourcing /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xsetup Sun Aug 14 20:26:24 2005 xdm error (pid 8493): can't execute "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xsetup" (err 13) and session pops out i can login localy without the Xsetup file without problem. (it just says Sun Aug 14 20:34:26 2005 xdm info (pid 8853): not sourcing /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xsetup (No such file or directory) ) (i'm running X Window System Version 6.8.2 (Debian 6.8.2.dfsg.1-5+SVN 20050813144141) cu libor
