Hello all. I am not sure that this is the correct list to post, but I think that maybe somebody can help me. This is the problem: I have a nvidia fx5200 on an Athlon 2400XP+, running a custom kernel 2.6.12.1. I have installed first the nvidia driver using the nvidia installer. But I didn't work well (glx not working), so i used the module-assistant to install all the nvidia drivers. The problem is that now the X does not came up without using the nvidia installer everytime the system boots. If i remove the nvidia installer and use only the module-assistant, the glx module is installed but cannot be used. So i wanted to remove ALL the nvidia drivers installed to start from the beginning. I think that i prefer to use the nvidia installer because it is more up to date. I am using Xorg, and using etch, but i had the exactly same problem when using Xfree and sarge. Here is an output of my dpkg -l |grep nvidia: ii nvidia-cg-toolkit 1.3.0501.0700-2 NVIDIA Cg Toolkit installer rc nvidia-glx 1.0.7174-4 NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x driver rc nvidia-kernel-2.4.27-1-386 1.0.6111-1+2.4.27-2 NVIDIA binary kernel module for Linux 2.4.27 rc nvidia-kernel-2.4.27-2-386 1.0.7174+1 NVIDIA binary kernel module for Linux 2.4.27 rc nvidia-kernel-2.6.11.8 1.0.7174-3 NVIDIA binary kernel module for Linux 2.6.11 ii nvidia-kernel-2.6.12 1.0.7174-4 NVIDIA binary kernel module for Linux 2.6.12 rc nvidia-kernel-2.6.9 1.0.7174-3 NVIDIA binary kernel module for Linux 2.6.9 ii nvidia-kernel-common 1.0.7174-1 NVIDIA binary kernel module common files ii nvidia-kernel-source 1.0.7174-4 NVIDIA binary kernel module source ii nvidia-settings 1.0+20050525-1 Tool of configuring the NVIDIA graphics driv My xorg.conf is attached.
