>From your report it looks like the driver for your card is broken in woody. Could you try installing/upgrading to sarge to confirm the problem is fixed ? Newer woody could not include fix for other than security bugs but the version in sarge and sid (4.3.0) include a lot of fix for such bugs. You can also find live cd to ease testing from the ubbuntu project, which use the same xserver than debian. Thank you for your report Alban
