Package: xlibmesa-gl-dev
Version: 4.2.1-16
Severity: normal

After today upgrade to 4.3 in sid xlibmesa-gl-dev and xlibmesa-glu-dev cannot be upgraded properly.

apt-get upgrade:

Reading Package Lists...
Building Dependency Tree...
The following packages have been kept back:
  xlibmesa-gl-dev xlibmesa-glu-dev
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.

apt-get dist-upgrade:

Reading Package Lists...
Building Dependency Tree...
The following packages have been kept back:
  xlibmesa-gl-dev xlibmesa-glu-dev
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.

Upgrade works only with dselect-upgrade or by installing explicitly both
packages. It should work also with a dist-upgrade AFAIK.

Thanks for following up!

I suspect some non-xfree86 package had a bad dependency on one of the
-gl or -glu packages, which kept yours from upgrading (people should
always depend on both the real and virtual libgl and libglu packages).

Closing per submitter.
