Hi Branden,

Thanks for looking at this. I'm sorry to tell you that I'm not very
clever about all the Xsession/xinit stuff. So I may not provide all the
help needed. Anyway, I made the mistake of upgrading to KDE 3.2 and X
4.3.0 at the same time, so this problem may be related to *anything*

Regarding your questions:
1) I'm not using any [xgk]dm (if that's what you meant)
2) Yes, the problem manifests with startx
3) I added the set -x in /etc/X11/Xsession, but I get NOTHING in
~/.xsession-errors (So, I guess /etc/X11/Xsession is not being
   called)

After upgrading (KDE and X) startx stopped running startkde, and the X
server will bail out, xinit was trying to start xterm (which is not
installed).

I installed xterm and startx will bring the X server and a xterm up.
No KDE.

So I had to put exec /usr/bin/startkde in a .xinitrc to get KDE started
with startx. In any case /etc/X11/Xsession is not being called.

Again, feel free to close this bug if you think I'm too clueless to
use/configure this stuff :)

Thanks,

Alberto
