Bug#226865: binary not the only possible reason

Hi!

I downgraded xbase-clients to the debian"testing" release version, but the segmentation fault didn't disappear.

Because of this, and because the problem started after updating an already up-to-date "unstable"-version of my debian system,
the binary file xkbcomp included in xbase-clients doesn't have to be
the only reason for this bug's behavior.

Instead, the shared libraries linked against it, may have something to do with it.

Output of ldd /etc/X11/xkb/xkbcomp:

        libXext.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x41661000)
        libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x41599000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x41019000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x41172000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x41000000)

These are the versions of all involved packages
(xkbcomp and linked shared objects):

My libc6 version is: 2.3.2.ds1-11
My xlibs version is: 4.2.1-15
My xbase-clients version is: 4.2.1-15

Annother thing I found out: If I activate keyboard layouts from the KDE Controlcenter, which override those defined in XF86Config-4, "kxkb"
(included in kdebase-bin) also crashes with a segmentation fault.

I'm sorry, I'm not a programmer.
But if you need further information, please contact me via e-mail.
I will try to answer immediately.

Thanks,
Ulrich Lukas
