Yes.  I cannot get DRI to work in 24/32-bit mode with only 16 megs of
memory (see below).  Switching to 16/16-bit works file though (after
switching to 16M of memory as well).  I guess what threw me was that X
went along happily with my request for using 32-megs of memory.  Does it
use AGP for this?   Also, I guess this is not a valid set-up -- or is
this something that should work?

This was not correct.  I should have looked for that.  I wrongly
assumed all G400s were 32M cards.  The card in my machine is a 16M card.
All is working OK now after removing that line from my config file.
