Package: xserver-xfree86
Version: 4.2.1-5
Severity: important

00:10.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage 128 PF/PRO AGP 4x TMDS
00:10.0 Class 0300: 1002:5046

After upgrading my kernel the console keymaps were broken. Before, i used the normal PC mappings, loading the mac-us-std keymaps fixed that problem.
Now X has the same problem. The keys seems to have shifted somehow, under the "e" key there is the backspace key etc...

Any of the known settings don't work...
There doesn't seem to be a powerpc version of the -6 release.

This problem crops up fairly frequently, and it's not a bug in the X
server. (Check the archives of the debian-powerpc mailing list for
similar reports: <URL:http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/>.)

Odds are, you have your kernel configured to send the old (ADB)
Macintosh keycodes. If you use kernel-package, try this command:

grep -i adbkeycodes /boot/config-$(uname -r)

My PowerPC does *NOT* send the old keycodes, so the above command shows
me:

# CONFIG_MAC_ADBKEYCODES is not set

=2E..my box therefore works with the "macintosh" XKB model.

> Any of the known settings don't work...

Try "macintosh_old". Alternatively, recompile your kernel and shut
CONFIG_MAC_ADBKEYCODES off.

Be patient, please. 4.2.1-6 was initally uploaded last night.

Closing this likely spurious report.
