How big is your monitor?  Taken together that's a fairly high pixel
clock requirement, but the individual frequences aren't completely
unreasonable.  21" CRTs can generally hsync from 30-130 kHz and vrefresh
from 60 to 160 Hz.

It's probably just changing the driver's modeline preferences.  It
should be possible to get satisfaction even without mga_hal_drv by using
a more conservative video mode.

No, it's proprietary to Matrox, the source code is not available, and
it's not part of the XFree86 codebase.

I simply can't do it.  I do not have access to the mga_hal_drv source,
it's not part of the XFree86 packages, and I cannot support it.

Hmm.  30-95 and the X server didn't toss a modeline with an hsync
requirement of 114.5 kHz?

Please supply this bug with your XFree86.0.log, as described in the
XF86Config(7) manual page.
