AFAIK this is caused by the PS Type1 engine in Xfree86, sometimes a
result of a font load request with insane sizes (like a 800pixel font)
and sometimes the font itself is broken (pfaedit/type1fix.pl may be able
(not always... ;-( ) to correct the problem) ...
