Here we are!!!! Thanks very much.

But still, probably someone has an idea what went wrong:
- I had an empty misc/fonts.alias
- when I run update-fonts-alias on misc, a file called
misc/fonts.alias.update-new was created -- but empty.

=> I copied the fonts.alias from my up and running laptop
XFree-installation and now it runs.

Nonetheless, I would be very interested in knowing why the f...
update-fonts-alias failed -- or what I made wrong.

Thanks for all your help!!! Thanks to all of you.
