Hi, I'm running kernel 2.4.0-test9 with an nvidia geforce256 running 
nvidias 0.95 drivers, and have had no problems (not since phase1 and old
nvidia drivers, at least)

...and running OpenGL software, mostly the Soldier of Fortune demo, which
runs absolutely SUPERSMOOTH with all that acceleration :-)

...and yes, also using a wheelmouse (but an USB mouse, that is)


So I assume that it MUST be your installation (or hardware ofcourse).
I can't se your XF86Config file (not attached to this)

have you remembered to compile your kernel with the proper AGP-support?
