Re: Broken in links in Debian History document - old news removed from www.debian.org

Hi Holger,

[I am not active in debian-www; I contribute to the Debian History document]

[dropping debian-devel from Cc]

There is a massive project ongoing, removing old content from the Debian
website. There are various very good reasons to do such maintenance. The pros
and cons have been extensively discussed, also by me.

Personally, I feel one should be _very_ carefull when removing old stuff.
(Well, _I_ am investing time in maintaining the debian-history package... :)
Otoh, I am very happy Mr FAI and others are investing time in the Debian
website: I applaud their efforts, and I am convinced they make the right
choices when weighting drawbacks vs benefits of specific actions.

It is unfortunate we encounter these broken links in debian-history this late
in the release cycle. But I am sure we can fix it all in time; I am happy to
hunt them down RSN.

Please continue doing good work for debian-www. It is appreciated :)

Bye,

Joost
