Re: Debian > firmware-linux

dears debian-www,

as it seems packages.debian.org does not reflect this change either:
https://www.debian.org/releases/bookworm/amd64/release-notes/ch-whats-new.en.html#archive-areas

packages.debian.org misses non-free-firmware

HTH

kind regards,

Hello Salvatore,

there is a strange thing going on with firmware-linux. on
https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/firmware-nonfree

it says
[2023-02-11] firmware-nonfree 20230117-2 MIGRATED to testing (Debian testing
watch)

but the latest avail .deb on mirrors is
http://ftp.ch.debian.org/debian/pool/non-free/f/firmware-nonfree/

firmware-linux_20210818-1~bpo11+1_all.deb    2022-10-12 00:37     24K

i at least checked ftp.ch.debian.org and ftp.de.debian.org

So although tracker.debian.org says it has migrated, it is not in bookworm.
at least no .deb avail on mirrors.

Thought i should let you know.

It is in bookworm, but you have to apply a change to your sources, due
to
https://www.debian.org/releases/bookworm/amd64/release-notes/ch-information.en.html#non-free-split
. There was a General resolution last year about firmware, leading to
firmware be put into a separate component non-free-firmware.

I believe apt maintainers are working with Cyril Brulebois to have apt
detecting the situation and so helping users to migrate.

Salvatore
