Automatically mark (or do not show) past events?

I just marked the last-weekend events as past:

  <http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/webwml/webwml/english/events/2011/1001-jabberfr-bsp.wml?r1=1.2&r2=1.3>
  <http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/webwml/webwml/english/events/2011/1001-minidebconf-colombia.wml?r1=1.1&r2=1.2>
  <http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/webwml/webwml/english/events/2011/1002-debub-bsp.wml?r1=1.1&r2=1.2>

Is there any interest in automating this (in this case I will come back
with a patch) or is the manual intervention needed for a specific
reason?
