Please note that you forgot the headers of index.wml:
#use wml::debian::mainpage title="The Universal Operating System"
#use wml::debian::recent_list
#include "$(ENGLISHDIR)/releases/info"

This is important information, don't skip it!

Do you also remember which CVS revision you used for this translation?
It should be added similar to
#use wml::debian::translation-check translation="1.79"
to simplify updating of the page. This is also used by pages such
as http://www.debian.org/devel/website/stats/hy.html. See
http://www.debian.org/devel/website/ for details.

The next time please also specify in more detail what file you
translated. There are many index.wml files in the repository :-)

It would be nice if you could check whether the generated page is
OK. Could you also tell us if you want to translate other files,
act as a translation coordinator, ...?
