I was checking out the Russian translation of the Debian main page.=20
When I click on a Russian-word link like =
=D1=81=D0=B2=D0=BE=D0=B1=D0=BE=D0=B4=D0=BD=D0=B0=D1=8F=20
(in the first paragraph), I would expect to be taken to a Russian page=20
if it is available. Instead, the link takes me to an English page, and
I have to scroll to the bottom of that page to see that there is a =
Russian=20
variation available, and click there to see the translation. I think the =
website,
when displaying any Russian language page, should adjust the links
on that page to take the user directly to the Russian translation of
the linked page, if available.

[Yes, I know -- third answer, but none has closed the bug yet]

This isn't easily doable, because for every newly translated page all
the pages that link to that would have to be regenerated. The same thing
again when the translation is removed anymore.

Thats one of the reasons why we have chosen content negotiation. Only
the user can know which language he wants to see, and so shall tell
their browser.

 So long,
Alfie
