I was not aware about it, sorry.

From changelog entries:
"these non-spec attributes do have a useful meaning in old netscape
browsers -- they won't hurt if they stay"

Why do netscape 4.x need them?

mirror/submit is the only page of the (english) web site which is not
valid HTML [1]; a good reason IMHO to remove these attributes.
