Hi,
In times of legal issues, it would help Linux greatly if all companies that:
o used the registered trademark "Linux" in their websites or marketing
materials would properly attribute that mark to the owner, Linus
Torvalds by including the sentence:
Linux(R) is a trademark of Linus Torvalds in several countries.
o had trademarks which included the word "Linux" in them (for example,
"Linux International") register the trademark with the Linux Mark
Institute (www.linuxmark.org), a non-profit that tracks usage of
the trademark "Linux". Rest assured that this is not a "get rich
quick scheme", and that all of the money paid in licensing fees goes
into a war chest to protect the mark itself, which in turn protects
Linux.
As quickly as possible, please make sure your companies are in compliance
Warmest regards,
Jon "maddog" Hall
