This actually looks like a php/pgsql issue.  I saw it first yesterday.
It has something to do with the database handle being or going bad.
For some reason, if you run the pgsql module preloaded it seems to work
fine.

It occurs randomly, which is annoying.

stopword is a word that is ignored. Syntatic sugar if you like.
I find it bizzare that god was and 'a' wasn't a stopword

No, it just happens randomly, but a lot.
Obviously we won't be using this if it cannot be fixed.
