Minia is a short-read assembler based on a de Bruijn graph, capable
of assembling a human genome on a desktop computer in a day. The
output of Minia is a set of contigs. Minia produces results of
similar contiguity and accuracy to other de Bruijn assemblers (e.g.
Velvet).
In computing, most people take the word "assembler" to mean a piece of
software which translates an assembly language of some sort to a form
directly runnable by the CPU of a target hardware platform.
Hence I think the description should be elaborated upon to make it
clear it has to do with DNA and not computer programming.
Well, this is a bioinformatics term. I will however add such info.
