Bug#480099: RFP: guava -- Coding theory library for GAP

Package: wnpp
Priority: wishlist

* Package name: gap-guava
* URL: http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/wdj/guava
* License: GPL2 or GPL3
  Programming Lang: C, GAP
* Description: Coding theory library for GAP
 GUAVA is a package that implements coding theory algorithms in
 GAP. Codes can be created and manipulated and information about codes
 can be calculated.
 .
 GUAVA consists of various files written in the GAP language, and an
 external program from J.S. Leon for dealing with automorphism groups
 of codes and isomorphism testing functions. Several algorithms that
 need the speed are integrated in the GAP kernel.

I have a draft packaging available in the apt repository described at
<http://wiki.sagemath.org/DebianSAGE> that I run for coordinating the
packaging of SAGE for Debian (#455292).

This package has binaries in /usr/share/gap/pkg/guava because I'm not sure where they're supposed to go in GAP packages.

Also, the package is missing the URL http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/wdj/guava/ in the copyright file.

I'll reply to this bug with an update if I get around to fixing these and other minor issues.

Since I don't have the time to maintain all 26 source packages I've
created as part of my effort to package SAGE's dependencies for Debian,
I'm looking for someone to adopt this package and maintain it in Debian.
