That's not much of a problem, I think. I'd rather focus on released
versions than contantly updating to the latest svn trunk version, unless
there is a specific reason to do so. (bugs, etc.).

What I could think of was to have the latest released version in
debian/unstable, and if necessary a later development version in
experimental, if you think this would help.

Ubuntu is fine as well, as I'm using boxbackup on one ubuntu server
myself. Do you have experience with packaging? Whould you be comfortable
with maintaining the packaging in bazaar?
