Bug#304819: spca5xx upload

You are discussing this as if my NM has just begun. Not true, it is
almost complete. Here are the words of my AM when the T&S passed:

"Looking at it I just set T&S to passed, now I only need to write up
the DAM report. I think/*hope* that I get around to the two
  outstanding reports this long weekend"

So ... it is very nearly complete and I am not being unreasonable
waiting for that to happen before uploading my etch packages.

Otavio Salvador(otavio@debian.org)@2005-09-04 15:05:
> boring your sponsor while you aren't officially inside of project but

Otavio ... please take no offense but I feel you are bullying me just
a little. Given that my application is so mature I have very good
reasons for declining sponsorship.

My own experience with sponsorship exactly matches the comments made
by Martin Racine in his talk "Developing Software for Debian" at
debconf5:

"After a while you'll start to notice that it becomes a real annoyance
to ask someone to upload your package for you and that the usual
person you ask to as well starts to become annoying.

If you are starting to request people to upload things you might
notice that they get annoyed, that you get annoyed and it takes a lot
of time that you will most likely want to become a developer and
  follow the procedure"

LOL I guess Martin likes the word "annoyed"!

BTW I really like my current sponsor and get on well with him, but
bothering him with package uploads is ... annoying! As a DD you may
not realize what a pain in the neck package sponsorship can become for
both parties.

However ... I am in agreement about the importance of spca5xx and
definitely want to see it in Debian a long time before etch releases.

I propose a compromise. If for some reason my NM is not complete two
months from now I'll contact you again and send you the package with a
sponsorship request. That way the package will be in Debian for at
least a year before etch releases.

Steve
