Bastien intend to orphan this package, and asked me to do it.

The package description is:

 GIMP-Freetype is a text plug-in for the GIMP based on the freetype library.
 It allows you to draw text in your images using any fonts supported by the
 freetype library (for example, TrueType, Type1 and OpenType fonts).

 GIMP-Freetype is an additional tool and doesn't replace the GIMP text tool.
