While I'd still like to work on this (and would/will eventually come
back to it if no one else does), I would not like to be a blocker for
further progress with the migration.
I'm also not very familiar with MediaWiki templates and extensions
internals, or how they get defined etc, and have not followed yet
what's our current status here, so I don't think I'm in a good
position to decide (which I think was kind of "delegated" to me as
"to do as I see fit" on IRC, AFAIR :) what should be done in this
respect, which would add additional delays from my side (to inform
myself, and then think through the shape of things, etc).
So, if someone wants to takes this on, please feel free, and while I
might not be able to drive this, I'm happy to assist with specific
Perl issues, or code changes.
