Good point. The most recent experience I had with this was a package I
uploaded in February 2019. The FTP team rejection came on 4th January
2020, my requests for additional clarification were made within 24 hours
of the rejection, but have not yet been replied to by the FTP team.

One additional point which I initially omitted and which may (or may
not) have bearing on the situation is that the package in question
targeted experimental rather than unstable.

I have filed an ITP for every new package I have ever uploaded. I have
never seen the FTP team make comments in the ITP bug whenever there has
been an issue that had to be resolved, and that remains the case for my
most recent experience.
