I'm a non technical contributor and I do not see a direct logical link
between that and using proprietary software. 
And I feel insulted.
Also, thanks for reinforcing the stereotype of non technical
contributors as not-good-enough-for-free-software. Or of free software

I know it was said in jest, and maybe without thinking too much on the
possible interpretations, but please next time think about it. :)

Francesca, non technical contributor using mutt on debian sid (also, no
Desktop Environment, here.)

ps: I first sent this objection on -curiosa, then I thought that this
kind of clarification was better sent to a wider audience. Apologies to
